Honda Accord Crosstour

Overview:
2010 Kelly Blue Book Top 10 Family Car

The 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour hass everything you like about the Accord Sedan and more. It shares the same V6 engine, passenger room and overall styling with its sedan counterpart, but boasts almost twice the cargo capacity -- a big win for families -- thanks to its hatchback shape.

Sharing skeletal structures with the Accord Sedan, the Crosstour provides a viable solution for those who like everything about its hatch-less sibling, but want more cargo room, additional utility and a higher seating position.

On the road, the 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour delivers the same engaging driving dynamics that every Honda is known for. With instantaneous throttle response, tight steering and nimble handling, it's easy to forget about the extra metal in the rear. The overall ride is comfortable and quiet as the Accord Crosstour incorporates Honda's new Active Sound Control system, and the semi-high ride height gives the driver a commanding view of the road.

Trim Levels:

The 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour is available in EX and EX-L trim levels. The EX comes standard with 17-inch wheels, foglights, a sunroof, power front seats (10-way driver, four-way passenger), a multifunction steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control with second-row vents, a 60/40-split-folding rear seatback and a seven-speaker audio system with a six-CD changer and an auxiliary audio jack.

The EX-L trim level adds 18-inch wheels, automatic headlights, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, driver-seat memory functions, leather upholstery, heated front seats, a cargo cover, Bluetooth and an upgraded stereo with a USB port and satellite radio. The lone option is a navigation system. It's only available on EX-L models, and it includes voice-activated controls and a back-up camera.

Powertrains & Performance:

Front-wheel drive is standard on the 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour, with all-wheel drive available on the EX-L only. All Crosstours come with a 3.5-liter V6 that produces 271 horsepower and 254 pound-feet of torque. A five-speed automatic is the only available transmission.

It also uses Honda's Variable Cylinder Management system, which allows the engine to run on three, four or six cylinders, depending on driving demands. The five-speed automatic transmission uses Honda's new G Shift Control, which holds the transmission in gear when the vehicle is cornering, and RPM rev-matching, which "blips" the throttle for smooth downshifts.

In independent performance testing, a front-wheel-drive Crosstour went from zero to 60 mph in a class-competitive 7.5 seconds. Fuel economy, according to Honda, is 18 mpg city/27 mpg highway with FWD, 17/25 with AWD.

Safety:

All Accord Crosstours come standard with active front seat head restraints, antilock disc brakes with brake assist, stability control, front side airbags and full-length side curtain airbags. In independent brake testing, the Accord Crosstour stopped from 60 mph in 131 feet.

The Real Time Four-Wheel Drive (4WD) system lets the Accord Crosstour be more than just a grocery hauler, allowing it to tread safely regardless of weather.
