 Overview:
    The 2011 Honda Accord offers an appealing combination of spaciousness, a relatively upscale feel and a reputation for reliability. It boasts ample passenger space, quality fit and finish, excellent visibility, and a high resale value.

    For 2011, the Honda Accord receives the first significant updates for its current-generation platform. Most notably, fuel economy is up thanks to revised aerodynamics plus tweaks to the engines and transmissions. The SE trim level has been added and there are new optional features as well, including an iPod/USB interface, a rearview camera, driver memory functions and shift paddles. The exterior has been given a mild refresh, while the interior's climate-control buttons have been rearranged for compatibility with the optional navigation system.

    The 2011 Honda Accord remains an extremely appealing car for several good reasons. It's got a big advantage over most rivals in the form of its sterling reputation for reliability, which not only makes for more enjoyable ownership but also gives the Accord one of the best resale values around. And when this upsized Accord debuted a few years ago, it moved up to the EPA's "large car" status, which is plainly evident when one experiences the commodious rear seat. The Accord's cabin also boasts excellent build quality and a premium look and feel that's noticeably a cut above rivals.

    The 2011 Honda Accord is available in sedan and coupe body styles. The sedan comes in LX, LX Premium, SE, EX and EX-L trim levels, while the coupe comes in LX-S, EX and EX-L trims.

Trim Levels:

    The LX Premium sedan adds 16-inch Alloy Wheels, Auto Up-Down Front Windows, Illuminated Windows Switches, and a Power Driver's Seat with 8-Way Power Adustment. The coupe's LX-S trim includes the LX-P's equipment with the exception of the Passenger-Side Auto-Up Window and Power Driver's Seat, and it adds an In-Dash Six-CD Changer.

    Upgrading to the SE Model adds or replaces the following items from the LX Premium Model: Leather-Trimmed Seats, a Leather-Wrapped Steering Wheel, Heated Front Seats, Driver's Seat with 10-Way Power Adjustment including Power Lumbar Support, and a "Special Edition" Badge.

    Moving up to the EX Model adds or replaces the following items from the LX Premium Model:a Front Shock Tower Bar, 17-Inch Alloy Wheels, One-Touch Power Moonroof, Multi-Reflector Halogen Headlights with Auto-On/Off, Heated Power Side Mirrors, Rear HVAC Vents, an Audio System with 6-Disc In-Dash CD Player, and a USB Audio Interface. On the Coupe, the EX Model also adds Premium Interior Accents and replaces the EX Sedan's Audio System with a 270-Watt AM/FM/6-Disc In-Dash Premium Audio System with 7 Speakers, Including Subwoofer.

    Stepping up to the EX-L Model adds or replaces the following items from the EX Model: Leather-Trimmed Seats, a Leather-Wrapped Steering Wheel, a 270-Watt AM/FM/6-Disc In-Dash Premium Audio System, XM Radio, Heated Front Seats, a Front Passenger's Seat with 4-Way Power Adjustment, Dual-Zone Automatic Climate Control, Bluetooth HandsFreeLink, and Steering Wheel-Mounted Phone Controls.

    In addition, the V6 Engine-Equipped EX-L model also adds: Fog Lights, Dual Exhaust, and Chrome Door Handles.

    Choosing the top-of-the-line EX-L NAV Model also adds Honda's class-leading Satellite-Linked Navigation System with Voice Recognition and Rearview Camera. bs the premium stereo system from the EX coupe, while the EX-L coupe gets the power driver seat. The lone option is a navigation system. It's only available on EX-L models, and it includes voice-activated controls.

Powertrains & Performance:

    The 2011 Honda Accord offers three engine choices. The LX, LX Premium and SE sedans are motivated by a 2.4-liter four-cylinder that generates 177 horsepower and 161 pound-feet of torque. An upgraded 190-hp version of that 2.4-liter engine powers EX & EX-L sedans and all coupes. A five-speed manual is standard on LX and EX models. A five-speed automatic is optional on LX and EX Models, and standard on LX Premium, SE, and EX-L Models.

    Available on the EX and EX-L trim levels is a 3.5-liter V6 that produces 271 hp and 254 lb-ft of torque (251 lb-ft on manual-shift V6 coupes). Sedans with the V6 can only be had with a five-speed automatic, but a six-speed manual is a no-cost option on V6 coupes.

    Safety:

      All 2011 Honda Accords come standard with antilock disc brakes, stability and traction control, front side airbags and full-length side curtain airbags.

      In government crash tests, the Accord sedan received a perfect five stars for front passenger protection in frontal and side impacts. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave the Accord its top rating of "Good" for both frontal-offset and side-impact crash protection.
